Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a private state university located in Phagwara, Punjab, India.Established under the Lovely Professional University Act, 2005, it commenced operations in 2006.
LPU is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Council of Architecture (COA), the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the Bar Council of India (BCI), and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, LPU secured the 38th position nationally. In 2023 NIRF ranked Lovely Professional University 46th overall, and 38th among universities.[36] It also ranked it 32nd in management, 17th in pharmacy, 50th in engineering, 16th in law and 16th in architecture ranking in India.
Additionally, LPU ranks among the Top 200 universities globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2023.
